Mont Sainte Anne Friday

Got a chance to check out the fourcross course tonight in the dwindling light, and it’s a beast. A natural,  rock infested, steep starting stretch led to a huge rutted right-hand berm and into a set of whoops that soon became unusable due to deep mud and had to be roped off. Instead, the course was re-routed to the left and down an insanely steep berm that looked almost over vert and had tire tracks right up to the very lip of the berm, the riders clearly using every inch of the track in qualifying. The track builders were still at work into the night laying down boards covered with chicken wire on the last 3 huge doubles. If the track dries up by tomorrow it will be lightning-fast, and if we see more rain it will be carnage.
