Yeti prototype exclusive

Yeti factory rider and all-around ripper Joey Schusler sent over some photos and his thoughts on Yeti’s prototype downhill machine for 2010. Check it out:

The new bike has been tested in a few different variations since mid-season 2009.  It will end up being lighter than the 303 RDH which is currently very light. They are phasing out the old 303 and hopefully we will see this new WC bike in production within the next year or so.  It is truly an amazing bike. It has a single vertical rail. The Yeti World Cup team will be running it at all World Cup and World Championship events. We will be running the all black, really awesome, new 2010 303 RDH at all other races for the most part. The geometry is very close between the two bikes except for the fact that the WC bike is a little bit longer for those gnarly WC tracks.  The bike doesn’t fully have a name yet but over at Yeti it is referred to as “The Proto”, “The 720”, “The WC Bike”, or “The New Bike”. My first impressions of the bike from team camp and the Fontana race were great. The bike is light, stable, and much faster than the previous model of the 303! Once I get more time in on it I can let you know more, but bottom line, this bike is fast! Also expect to see some paint on them this year. Joey Schusler
